GlasPort Bio, in which Roebuck Food Group plc holds a 37% stake and retains a Call Option to increase its ownership to over 80%, featured prominently last week at the British Society of Animal Science (BSAS) Annual Conference, held this year in Galway.
GlasPort Bio sponsored the "Innovative GHG Measurement and Mitigation Techniques" segment of the conference, which attracted over 400 animal scientists and stakeholders from 23 countries. It was officially opened by Noel Grealish TD, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and the Marine, responsible for food promotion, new market development, and agricultural research and innovation. Minister Grealish emphasised agriculture's role in the Irish economy and commended the sector's collaborative efforts to address the environmental challenges facing livestock production.
GlasPort's team, alongside scientists from Queen's University Belfast, Teagasc, and the University of Galway, presented findings from several research initiatives evaluating the efficacy of GlasPort's proprietary GasAbate technology and patent-pending RumenTech feed additive. These technologies reflect GlasPort's deep intellectual property portfolio and the strength of its scientific foundations and know-how in manure treatment and animal feed additives—built through years of in-house R&D at their own laboratory and in collaboration with leading scientific partners and academic institutions.
